Mr. David Ho is a pharmacist by training. He obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Otago in 1974. He later obtained a Master of Pharmacy degree from the same university in 1976.He was registered as a pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand in 1974 and as a pharmaceutical chemist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in 1977.He was registered as a pharmacist with the Malaysian Pharmacist Board in 1980.

In addition to these, he has also completed the Applied International Management Programme organized by the Swedish Institute of Management in 1990 and the International Top Management Seminar in the field of Quality Leadership organized by the ISO Swedish Management Group in 1996.

Mr. Ho is a strong believer in innovation. While working with Wyeth Laboratories Ltd as a research pharmacist , he came up with a novel way to create the fast - dissolving tablet . He also helped develop Wyeth's first patented fast - dissolving dosage form tablet.  This was for children, geriatric folks and psychiatric patients who had difficulty swallowing.

In 1980, he returned to Malaysia to take over the family herbal tea business . He formed and incorporated Hovid . Under his visionary leadership, the company went through a remarkable transformation from herbal to a public listed biotech company today.

In the year 2004 , he was nominated as one of the Top 6 nominees for the Master Entrepreneur of the Year category for the Ernst & Young Malaysian Entrepreneur Of The Year Award.
